Nectar provides political education and healing justice to support communities and movements.
Nectar ignites our desire and grows our capacity to live in liberated ways.
Nectar’s work is rooted in the deep belief that we belong to each other. We deserve to live in a world where everyone has safety, belonging, justice, and love.
Systemic oppression has disconnected us from our desire and capacity to live in liberated ways.
Colonialism and imperialism have disconnected us from indigenous and ancestral wisdom, practices, and ways of being. Late-stage capitalism disconnects us from our soul and our life force energy. White supremacy culture disconnects us from our humanity and our universality.
Systemic oppression wants us to accept the current way as the only way that has ever been and that always will be. It clouds our visions of liberation with the urge to maintain the status quo. Under systemic oppression, it is difficult for us to love freely and fiercely.
Yet we are all connected to a life force energy that seeks belonging, love, and liberation.

Nectar brings more liberation into our lives now as we make our way to a more liberatory future
Hello! My birth name is Shengxiao and my nickname is Sole and I use she/her pronouns. I am a speaker, social justice educator, storyteller, writer, facilitator, and creator of Nectar.
I inherited culture and wisdom from my Chinese ancestors, learned about systemic oppression living in the diaspora in the United States, and developed my political consciousness in Latin America. I combine history, social justice frameworks, and storytelling with lessons I have learned on my healing journey to create life-affirming experiences for liberation.
“Not only have I learned a lot from Sole about the content of [her workshops], but also a lot about how to be an educator. Sole pushed us to work and think hard to understand concepts that deserve to be thought hard about. I will forever be changed by the knowledge and experiences gained from this [experience].”
